These orange ixora grow in the garden of my apartment compound, where I often stop to admire them. I was drawn to their vibrant colour and the way sunlight moved across the clusters of flowers and leaves. Painted from life in oils using the alla prima technique, this work is a response to that moment of observation. Rather than capturing every detail, I wanted to preserve the freshness of the experience through expressive brushwork, colour, and light.
