These flowers arrived as part of a large bouquet, quietly tucked away among the more prominent blooms. Their soft pink hues caught my attention, and I found myself drawn to them even as they began to wilt. Painted from life in oils using the alla prima technique on a quiet afternoon, this study was an attempt to capture the gentle light as it fell across the fading blooms, revealing subtle shifts in colour and form.
